The partnership

Material expertise. Architectural imagination.

MR Walls is an exclusive partner of Corian® Design, with a relationship that began in 2019.

Our US surfaces are fabricated exclusively in Corian® Solid Surface. We combine its material capabilities with digital design and precision carving to create dimensional walls tailored to the architecture.

For your project, that means a team that can connect the design concept to the details—from surface patterns and panel layouts to shop drawings and installation coordination.

Why Corian® Solid Surface

The material makes the difference.

Corian® Solid Surface is a solid, nonporous material made with acrylic resin and natural minerals. Its properties let us shape both how a wall looks and how it performs in everyday use.

01

Form beyond the flat

Thermoforming uses heat to shape Corian® into curves and three-dimensional forms. The achievable geometry depends on the color, thickness and design.

02

Let light through

Selected colors and thicknesses transmit light, opening possibilities for backlit surfaces. Carving and lighting design work together to reveal depth and pattern.

03

No grout lines

Bonded panels can create a virtually seamless appearance without tile grout. Necessary movement joints and transitions are coordinated into the wall design.

04

Made for daily use

A durable, nonporous surface that resists stains and is easy to clean. Choose the finish and surface detail to suit the traffic and maintenance needs of the space.

05

Renew. Repair. Retain.

Many marks and types of damage can be repaired. For a carved wall, repair methods should be assessed for the specific texture and finish to preserve the design.

06

Specify with evidence

Review low-emissions certification, ingredient and environmental disclosures, and recycled-content documentation.

From property to possibility

Translucency → Backlight

Light becomes part of the surface.

Bring a carved pattern to life with light transmitted through Corian® itself. MR Walls Backlight gives feature walls, reception areas and hospitality spaces a luminous dimension.

Color, material thickness, carving depth and lighting layout influence the result. Develop the effect as a coordinated surface and lighting system.

Thermoformability + carving → Sculptural geometry

Bring dimensionality to the surfaces.

Thermoforming creates the curve; precision carving brings relief and texture to the surface. Together, they open possibilities for flowing walls, wrapped corners and complex architectural forms.

We develop the geometry around the material and the project. Complex forms require design review and, where appropriate, prototyping before fabrication.

Nonporous + grout-free → Healthcare

Designed for spaces that need to stay clean.

Large Corian® wall surfaces offer a nonporous finish without tile grout lines. With appropriate detailing, cleaning and disinfection, they can support a facility’s infection-control routines.

Match the relief, joints and transitions to the cleaning demands of each space. Follow the facility’s protocols and Corian’s care guidance; the material itself is not antimicrobial.

Material versatility → Exterior scale

Carry the design outside.

Give facades a distinctive identity with carved texture, pattern and depth. Corian® offers low moisture absorption and resistance to humidity and freeze-thaw conditions.

Exterior suitability depends on the selected color and the complete assembly. Coordinate weathering expectations, movement, fixings and applicable code requirements for the project.

Before you specify

A few useful distinctions.

Can every Corian color be backlit or thermoformed?

No single result applies across the palette. Translucency varies with color and thickness, and thermoforming limits also vary by aesthetic. Review samples and the proposed geometry with MR Walls before final selection.

Does “virtually seamless” mean there are no joints?

No. Panels can be bonded with inconspicuous seams and need no tile grout, but movement joints, perimeter conditions and other transitions still form part of a properly detailed wall system.

How should a sculptural surface be cleaned or repaired?

Use Corian’s care guidance and project-specific instructions for the finish and relief. Many types of damage can be repaired, but a carved surface needs an approach that preserves its texture. Consult MR Walls before abrasive treatment or repairs.
