INTRODUCTION
This week on Inside the Spec, we’re heading outside—where a bold carved wall now greets every resident at The Lindley, a luxury high-rise in downtown San Diego.
Toll Brothers didn’t want a typical entrance. They wanted a moment.
They called M|R Walls.

The Vision:
A feature that would feel like art, move like water, and reflect the energy of San Diego Bay.
A flowing, wave-inspired carved wall to bring movement, texture, and identity to the building’s main entry—while staying clean, modern, and code-compliant.
The Challenge:
This was a high-exposure exterior application in a marine-influenced climate.
The design had to last. The installation had to perform.
That’s where Corian® Solid Surface came in.
Durable. UV-stable. Easy to maintain. And the perfect canvas for M|R Walls texture.
The Solution: Design Assist
Our team partnered with Toll Brothers and architect JWDA from the very beginning.

Here’s how we supported the process:
- Reviewed the concept with the team via Zoom
- Explored textural options for a soft, organic flow
- Engineered carving depth and seam logic for exterior performance
- Supplied Corian® textured samples, shop drawings, and system details for approval
- Built a vented support system to keep the wall breathable and secure
- Delivered every slab labeled and mapped—ready for a fast, clean install

Why it landed:
Design Assist made it easy for the architect and owner to say yes.
We helped visualize the idea, resolve technical details, and show how Corian® Laguna Blue could bring this vision to life—beautifully and reliably.
This wasn’t just an accent wall—it became the signature of a luxury 37-story tower.
Next week on Inside the Spec: One hospitality designer wanted their wall to radiate with animated light, so we did it.
